PMG Presse-Monitor GmbH

In 1998, a number of well-known German publishers looked for ways to be able to offer articles for the preparation of electronic press reviews. This resulted in the founding of PMG Presse-Monitor Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG. The founding members are the following publishing companies: Axel Springer Verlag, Hubert Burda Media, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Gruner + Jahr AG, Spiegel-Verlag Rudolf Augstein, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt as well as the Federal Association of German Newspaper Publishers and the Association of German Magazine Publishers.

picturesafe developed and operates a system for PMG with which content and user rights to text and picture material can be effectively marketed in the Internet. Large volumes of data that are updated on a daily basis are provided in accordance with customer requests for use in a way that complies with the copyrights. Authorized users have access to the system over the Internet. e-Commerce components are used for payment and delivery of the protected text and graphics.
